About the Role: A Volunteer Gardening & Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting gardening and maintenance staff with landscaping and building projects. Grounds maintenance workers perform a variety of tasks to achieve a pleasant and functional outdoor environment. This position requires a person who has knowledge of manual handling and is enthusiastic about assisting with either gardening or maintenance work. Duties include: planting, pruning and weeding or painting, cleaning and repairing fixtures. About You: You will be a committed and caring individual that displays empathy for the older members of our community. You will equally match our culture and values and will have a good work ethic, be reliable and enjoy working in a team environment. You will enjoy utilising your unique talents, trades and skills to assist staff in maintaining our sites to a high standard. This volunteer position requires you to have:

  • The ability to work positively within a team to achieve shared goals
  • General knowledge of Work Health and Safety practices
  • National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
