Bene introduces a new visitor booking system and Visitor Pass

The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged us all, but the overwhelming support and cooperation of the Bene community has so far enabled us to keep our residents and our workforce safe.

As restrictions continue to ease across the wider community, Bene remains vigilant in maintaining a safe environment for all those in our care and those that care for them.

However, we are also looking forward to welcoming back visiting children and introducing a new visitor booking system which will apply to all scheduled visits from June 29.

In addition, with the most recent easing of restrictions announced by the Australian Government Department of Health and the South Australian Government, residents are now permitted to leave the care home for any reason and return, subject to screening.

Key information for residents and visitors

  • Residents may leave the care home for any reason and return, subject to screening.
  • Each resident may have one (1) pre-booked visit per day of up to 60 minute duration. Effective from 29 June.
  • There may be up to two (2) visitors per visit. Effective from 29 June.
  • Children under 16 years may enter for visiting, provided they are accompanied by an adult and meet all screening criteria, including evidence of having had their 2020 seasonal influenza vaccination (children under 6 months are exempt). Effective from 29 June.
  • Individual arrangements already in place for end-of-life care and shared care visits will continue.

To accommodate the new visitor guidelines, Bene will be moving from the Nominated Authorised Visitor booking system currently in place to a Visitor Pass Holder booking system. The new booking system will apply to all scheduled visits from June 29.

What you need to do prior to visiting

  1. Register for a Visitor Pass
Anyone intending to visit a resident will be required to register for a Visitor Pass in advance of the intended visit. Those that have previously registered as a Nominated Authorised Visitor will automatically be issued a Visitor Pass. To register, you must email or contact the receptionist at the care home that you intend to visit.
